KABHE has been in existence for 35 years. The purpose of our organization is to promote the
advancement of Blacks in Higher Education in Kentucky by articulating needs and concerns,
promoting unity, cooperation and awareness, and enhancing the personal and professional
growth of its members. KABHE also seeks to aid Kentucky colleges and universities in the
recruitment, retention and development of African American faculty and staff by sponsoring
regional meetings and an annual conference where pertinent educational issues are discussed
and solutions are explored.
